So I have decided to start a blog about development, because of the feedback I got from posting on reddit. I never actually thought that people would receive the game as well as they did, but they did and it kind of inspired me. Even people who write a negative comment must have some kind of interest if they care enough to disclose their disappointments. Honestly I have been working a little on this project for while but never thought there would be the kind of interest that I saw from people, mostly the concepts have come from me procrastinating at work and the coding from when I felt like it in my spare time. I have been thinking about both how to make a Mars colonization game realistic and also a lot about game mechanics a lot and I want to thank the person who send me Robert Zubrin's book which finally convinced me to change a lot about the game, even though I had a long conversation in the comments that didn't.
I could talk about some of the thoughts I have put in to game mechanics like for example instead of just being population capped when you run out of food, now you lose 25% extra of your population, which makes food management so much more important and the game a lot harder. But it is probably easier to relate to visual developments, so luckily I did a bit of that also :)

Some work done on how the map changes after terraforming when water starts flowing on Mars:
